COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL AND ORAL CANCER EXAMINATION
Our comprehensive evaluation of your oral health is designed to evaluate your current dental health and how it relates to your overall medical well being.
A complete Periodontal Examination is conducted to evaluate all the bone and gum tissues in your mouth to try to detect gum disease before it becomes a serious problem. A through Dental Examination is also done to check your teeth for any signs of damage from cavities or fractures so we can help you protect and preserve your smile. A comprehensive review of your medical history and an examination of all the tissues in your face and neck allow us to screen for any signs of oral cancer or other medical issues that can impact to your oral health.
DIGITAL X-RAYS
A complete radiographic analysis of your entire mouth and related structures isdone with the most current digital technology so we can examine every detail of your teeth and mouth as safely as possible. A Panoramic Image is taken to evaluate the entire mouth and surrounding tissues and structures for any signs of disease or pathology. In addition, a Full Mouth Series allows us to have a “close up” of each tooth to check for any damage caused by cavities or fractures.
INTRAORAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Digital photos are taken of each tooth and any related tissues so we can show you exactly what we see in your mouth if treatment is needed for anything.
CONSULTATION TO REVIEW FINDINGS
If your examination involves comprehensive treatment in order to achieve your goals for your dental health, a consultation with Dr. Lirio to ask questions about the examination data and to ask any questions you may have about treatment options can be provided at no additional cost.
At SRQ Dentistry, it is very important to us that we give you the most complete examination possible and provide you with all the information you need about your current dental health so that you can decide what you want to do to achieve your goals.
WILL I HAVE MY TEETH CLEANED AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
At SRQ Dentistry, we understand that this may be the main reason why you contacted us for your first appointment. Our primary goal is to provide treatments only when they are appropriate and necessary to our patient’s needs. At your first exam, a cleaning of your teeth may be done only if there are no signs of existing unstable gum disease (i.e. numerous loose teeth, gum infection, etc.), previously diagnosed and treated gum/periodontal disease, or any unstable tooth infections (i.e. dental abscess, facial abscess, etc.).
In cases where your mouth is already in a healthy state, a standard cleaning may be all you need to maintain your healthy mouth. If signs of gum disease or infection are detected after this initial examination, we can help you decide what type of dental cleaning will best improve your dental health in following appointments.
